TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:

California is leading the way on renewable energy, likely seeing 50% or greater of its electricity from clean energy sources by
2020. As a result, the way we produce, transmit, distribute and purchase power is different from just a few years ago. Our panel discussion will include industry leaders from Contra Costa County, MCE, Stantec, and others who will speak to their efforts on energy / land use policy, stakeholder coordination, project siting, and consumer demand for electricity from clean energy sources.

JODY LONDON is the Sustainability Coordinator for Contra Costa County, managing implementation of the County’s Climate Action Plan. Issues on which Ms. London works includes energy efficiency, renewable energy, land use and transportation, solid waste, water, and government operations. Prior to joining the County, Jody worked with local governments and non-profits on State energy policy issues, representing them before agencies including the California Public Utilities Commission and California Energy Commission. Her experience includes six years on the staff at the CPUC. In her spare time, Ms. London serves on the Oakland School Board.

MICHAEL JOHNSON is the Power Sector Lead for Stantec, overseeing transmission and distribution projects that support renewable/clean energy throughout the U.S. In this role, Mr. Johnson has served as the Environmental Compliance Supervisor for California’s largest renewable related transmission program.
